About the Highlands Course at McLemore Resort
Perched high atop Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn, Georgia, The Highlands Course at McLemore Resort offers a truly unforgettable mountain golf experience. Designed by renowned architects Rees Jones and Bill Bergin, this award‑winning par‑71 championship course is celebrated for its dramatic elevation changes, pristine playing conditions, and breathtaking panoramic views overlooking McLemore Cove.
The course weaves through three distinct landscapes—highland plateau holes, wooded canyon holes, and striking cliff‑edge holes—creating a round that is both visually stunning and strategically engaging. The layout culminates with a world‑famous cliffside finishing hole, widely regarded as one of the most spectacular finishing holes in golf.
Set more than 2,300 feet above sea level, The Highlands Course combines championship‑level design with natural beauty, delivering an elevated golf experience that is challenging, memorable, and perfectly suited for a premier outing like The Fence Group’s annual event.
What to Expect
Golfers can expect a championship‑level mountain course with notable elevation changes, scenic cliff‑edge views, and a layout that rewards strategic play. The Highlands Course is both challenging and enjoyable for a wide range of skill levels, offering an unforgettable setting for our annual outing.
Required Attire
Proper golf attire is required. This includes collared shirts, golf slacks or tailored shorts, and soft‑spike golf shoes.
